Ashi ~ A.O.B.T.

Dubbed to be "the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet", Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (A.O.B.T.) is all of that!

In Japanese, "Ashi-" means foot and "-atsu" means pressure.  Thus, ashiatsu is a therapeutic massage modality where the therapist delievers bodywork massage pressure using their feet!  Ashi ~ as it is frequently referenced ~is a barefoot massage technique using deep compression strokes that glide over the body.  Gravitational force is combined with these strokes to create a structual change in chronic soft tissue damage.

The strokes are long & fluid, providing a deep relaxation and will stimulate the lymphatic system of the body.  Many of the AOBT movements help to elongate the spine by dramatically stretching the shortened muscles, relieving the discomfort.

The body's circulation is greatly enhanced with this form of body work.  The movements used help the body's lymphatic system release toxins at a VERY high rate.  Sometimes clients report feeling a bit unstable after a session.

Bars are used above the head for support and balance.  Lubricant in the form of oil or lotion is applied to the body to enhance the delivery of the strokes.

The biggest benefit of the Ashi technique is that after a few treatments, it will help improve the client's posture and range of motion mevement while relieving pain, improving bodily functions and creating a state of well being.

Who is attracted to AOBT?  Those clients who are looking for a deeper pressure massage, those who experience chronic inflammation as seen in various back conditions, or those looking for the most luxurious therapeutic massage available.

Who shouldn't use AOBT?  Those who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, those with heart conditions or stents or uncontrolled high blood pressure, those taking blood thinning medicines, people receiving treatment for cancer, or any kidney disorders.
